Device unlocking

Hello
I have been trying to unlock my device(an iPhone 7 Plus) since I got it from a friend who moved out of the states.
However I was denied because my device has not been active for at least six months of paid service.
Could you kindly provide some guidance on the matter please?
I reside in the United Arab Emirates and an unlocked phone is the only way about using the local carriers' networks

Hi @aftab1996,

It is nice of your friend to give you a new device! When it comes to having an unlocked device, it can definitely be very beneficial. Lets make sure you are guided in the right direction to get this taken care of!

You mentioned you receive the error " Device has not been active for at least six months of paid service." For a seamless and hassle free experience when it comes to requesting for an unlock, all requirements must be met before we can unlock. We invite you to check out our Device Unlock Portal for additional information. Once the iPhone 7 is eligible, we would be more than happy to unlock.

I hope you find this information helpful. I wish you an amazing rest of your day!
