It is my understanding that I can change a cell phone number within 30 days of getting it to another number and you can check availability. Is that true? I spoke to a customer service rep, she was polite but I am not sure if she was up to date on what you can do. Thank you.

If you decided to change your current phone number within the 30 days after activating it, it would be free of charge. If the current number is still active past the 30 days, a $36 change fee would be included.
