Can I get the iPhone 8 Plus with the BOGO offer for the upgrade of my iPhone 6?

I am eligible for an upgrade to my iPhone 6.  Can I get the iPhone 8 Plus with the BOGO offer for the upgrade of my iPhone 6?

So I got up at 3 last Friday morning to order new iphones for my daughters, one new line and one upgrade.

All was going pretty well, but I noticed that while I could change the NEXT plan for 30-24 months on the upgrade, the second one I added through the nice "get another one for free prompts" was set to the 30-month plan. Talked to the folks on chat who said, no problem, finish the order, and call tomorrow to get it switched to the 24 month plan.

Called in the morning, and twice was transfer/disconnected, so gave up on that. Tried the social media channels and finally get a hold of someone who says - there's no way to fix that order, best they can do is cancel the line that's wrong, and I can re-order on the 24-month plan. They go to do so, and turns out they can't, they'd have to cancel the whole order. Which - I'd let them do, but pretty sure I'll end up in the exact same boat, because the interface wouldn't let me choose the 24-month plan. Is there no way to get this contract updated prior to the device shipping?

Anyone else been successful at doing this with two iphones on the BOGO 24-month plans? I tried to look and see if the site had been updated to allow it, and I could just cancel and redo the whole order, but I don't even the screen about the bogo offer at all any more, so am concerned that might go from bad to worse...

I was able to upgrade 1 line to iphone 8 and add a new line with iphone 8 (BOGO offer) on Saturday 9/16 (both with ATT Next Year (24 installments).  While logged in (myATT wireless account), I concurrently turned on the chat and asked ATT agent to help me in real time.  Basically I had to do 2 transactions.  First one is to upgrade (that one is simple enough).  The second one the Agent in the chat gave me a link that show "Add New Line as existing customer".  I was able to select ATT Next Year option (24 installments) for both iphone 8s.

So for me, it was best and smooth transaction that I enlisted the real time help by an agent in CHAT.

Good luck.

and your not doing to get your credits....  THEY HAVE TO BE ON THE SAME SALES TRANSACTION.  Chat is really stupid sometimes....  In the case of these BOGO offers your better off doing them in the store.

This BOGO works like previous BOGO's where you buy two phones then come back here in 3-6 months and complain about not getting any credits only to find you didn't meet the BOGO requirements.

 BWAHAHAHA. 😆😆😆.   Nailed it!

Please read the requirements carefully and make sure you meet them, otherwise no credits. A new line and Directv satellite service is required.

I don't have Uverse TV available to me and I don't have line of sight for DirecTV so because AT&T has 2 television products that are not adequate to serve all their customers, I am forever punished with not being able to get BOGO on anything because they always require a TV service to qualify? That seems like discrimination.

Bogo requires a new line of service AND a premium television service.

Best buy currently has a BOGO for the iPhone X and IPhone 8 or 8 plus as of November 3rd 2017 with ATT only and up to $700. If you go to bestbuy website and choose the iPhone X it’ll bring you to the carrier section. Scroll to the bottom and the details for bogo are at the bottom. The only caveat is either two lines activated or one upgrade and one new line.  So it’s time to delete my wife’s number and give her a new one lol!

Just make sure you order the 8 on the new line, doesn’t matter what line you use it on.

Problem with BOGO offer. I currently have 2 mobile lines, that's all I need. To get the offer I need to add another line, with a new phone number equals 3 lines with ATT. Then, I can cancel one of my original 2 lines which with the new line gets me back to 2 lines. However I had to change all my stats on the line I cancelled to the new #. ATT started with 2 lines now are back to 2 lines with me, but I had to make many changes with contacts and sites. Why did I have to go through that? ATT gained nothing but selling me the one phone and free phone. That doesn't change. ATT still has 2 lines. Why do I have to go through all that hassle
of changing numbers? I'll buy the phone deal, but not having to change my phone number to a new one. Will anyone read this even though you won't respond? No, I don't think so.

If ATT were paying attention, T-mobile has blocked customers from this work around.

These promotions are to add business and make a profit off you, not save you money.   Carriers don’t have a problem with customers switching.  It moves them off older, possibly cheaper plans.  They may or may not be happy with their new carrier and want to switch back.   In the end, all the switching is an expense for the customer.  A discount on phones somewhat offsets that.
