Call Kit and Phone Bill
Hello!
I recently decided to do the update for iOS 10. I noticed that this CallKit feature transitions my Facebook Messenger calls into appearing as they are actual phone calls. Like many others, I am totally against this due to privacy issues. Unfortunately, there is no way to disable it unless you are using Skype. My main concern is does the Facebook Messenger calls or and other calls via CarKit appear on a phone bill? Would the minutes on that call be added to a cellular plan's minutes.? Hope to hear feedback soon.
Thank you.

Hello @xdldlx52,
Excellent questions! I would be happy to help you with them! Call Kit is a feature which uses the iPhone’s call screen for other applications.
Since the interface for the calls is the only thing being used by the apps, it would not show up on your bill, or charge you for minutes on your calls.
I hope this helps!

How is this a privacy issue?
Only phone calls show up as phone calls on the phone bill, AT&T only know's that you have used data. It should be reported the same way as it used to be on the bill, it just looks different on the screen.
If it's truly facebook messenger, it's not a call.
I'm not sure how Skype would work into the disabling of Facebook messenger...?

Hello @Maglove,
This is a great question! I’d be delighted to share some information with you and clear this up.
Facebook audio calls are Voice over IP, so they will show as a data exchange on your AT&T bill. The only calls which will show on your bill will be the ones made over the cellular network.
Hope this helps! Have a wonderful day!
