Address Book/iCloud usage

I just want to make sure I understand correctly. If I have an Apple smartphone and use iCloud to back up my phone, my contacts will be backed up through iCloud and the discontinuation of the address book won't affect any of that. And I'll be able to iCloud all my contacts to a new device and I won't be affected by the address book deletion. Is that correct?

Hello @kellysue23,

Thank you for bringing your iCloud question to the Community Forums. I will be honored to clear up the details for you!

You are absolutely correct, because you are currently using an iPhone, you do have access to the iCloud storage. The great news is since Address Book is going away you will not lose any content you have backed up to your iPhone.

As long as you are logged in with your Apple ID, your phone will sync the content for you. If at any time you would like to see your content, you can log into the iCloud storage from your computer at iCloud.com

I hope this information has been helpful. Thank you for your time and have a fabulous rest of your week!
