old phone

I have a galaxy cell phone that is about 3 years old. currently using an iphone. do I need to do anything to the galaxy brfore I give it to someone else to use with a different cell compan?. was att-going to verizon...

Though I don't think a 3 year old ATT galaxy will work on Verizon.

Because Verizon's network is very different from ATT. Verizon is mainly a CDMA network while ATT is GSM. If the galaxy does not have CDMA radios (which it probably does not), it won't work on their CDMA network. Best case is it might work on Verizon's LTE network but even that would be iffy.
