how to unlock my samsung galaxy s7 edge

paid off my phone, waited a week, then submitted an unlock request.. gonna stay with ATT but want to be able to  go to England and  buy a sim card and use it for the 3 weeks I will be there.. will be back with att after 3 weeks.

got the unlock request approved, and received the code with instructions via email.

instructions state "remove battery" and replace with non ATT sim card.... can't remove battery from my S7 Edge and don't have NON att sim card.

 how do I unlock phone?.

Thank you for your reply.. But....

my samsung galaxy S7 Edge shows in my manual and via ATT as model G935A. looking at the  'Support Article"  you pointed me to, there is no G935A model in the samsung section. so it defaults to the 'all other models' section of the  article. which states the following:

All other Samsung devices

1. Power off the device, remove the battery, and insert a non-AT&T SIM card.

2. Re-insert the battery and power on the device with non-AT&T SIM.

3. The device displays” Enter the device unlock code.”

4. Enter the unlock code.

5. Press OK.

the  support article shows a date of 2016, was probably written before the S7 Edge came out so is obviously outdated ans  many newer models are not even in that document,

And the samsung s7 edge does not have a removable battery. so I cannot  follow this procedure.

So AGAIN I ask:

what is the procedure to  unlock my paid off samsung galaxy s7 edge after  I receive the code from  ATT? And  how do I get a  blank SIM card if the  procedure states that I need one.?

I obviously want to get this done before I go overseas to avoid any surprises.

Thank you for any help.

Many users want to SIM Unlock their phones as soon as the phone becomes eligible to receive an unlock code. However all the guides on the support site requires you to insert a SIM Card from another network in order to get to the unlock screen and enter your code. As you can imagine, many of us are not switching to another carrier and do not have a sim card from another carrier. We are simply unlocking our phones so that we can do more with it!

There is a secret code to bring up the Screen to Enter Your Unlock Code.

The secret code is:

#7465625*638*#

You dial this code as it is shown above, it brings up the form to enter your unlock code. As soon as you submit your valid code, your phone is unlocked.

This code works with most Samsung devices I tried on.

Thank you for your support. Yes the  secret code method did work!

Nicely Done!  This worked like a charm and much easier than the "official" method.  Of course, it's not to AT&T's advantage to have unlocked devices, so ....

I appreciate the information.

I kind of have a similar problem but I'm trying to unlock my tablet instead of my phone. I do not have a SIM card from another carrier is there some way to unlock my tablet like there is with the phone with a secret code?

take your emails with the unlock code, print out this thread, and take it to your nearest ATT store, ask them to help.. its probably something  minor that you are doing wrong...
