Try resolving your experience by clearing the app's data in the Settings menu of the Messages application. Should your experience persist despite the first step simply enable and disable Advanced Messaging by performing the following steps: In the Messenger App > Select More (in the upper-right corner) > Settings > Advanced Messaging, and deselect (uncheck) Use Advanced Messaging. Repeat these steps to enable Advanced Messaging.
