ZTE Maven stuck in restart cycle

My phone (ZTE Maven) is stuck in a loop where it restarts over and over.  After I make the pattern to get out of the lock screen, I can get into the home screen, but after one or two touches of the screen, the phone just restarts on its own.  Then the cycle repeats.
I tried a soft reset, I even managed a factory reset when it let me get away with a couple of touches before restarting.   I tried draining the battery and recharging.  Nothing works.
