When will AT&T offer Google Wallet compatible phones?

I have an NFC phone, Samsung Note 2 and I'd like to be able to use it with Google Wallet...but it looks like only Sprint has Google Wallet compatible phones.

I thought AT&T was the biggest and baddest phone carrier out there...how can it be that there is no support for Google Wallet??

AT&T and some other US carriers are developing their own lame system to process NFC payments. They won't ever offer Google Wallet because they're being greedy tools about it and the development is at a snail's pace. Typical telecom ineptitude.

There is a workaround for some phones if yours has NFC and is unlocked, but "it's illegal" or "in violation of your agreement" or "sabotages our plans for higher profits"

So nothing official from AT&T about Google Wallet on compatible devices? Seems like AT&T's portfolio of NFC devices would lend itself to enabling it.
