We demand an explanation: where is 6.0.1?
Where is 6.0.1 for the Note 4, and why is it taking so long?

Hi @SteelersPitt!
Welcome to AT&T Community Forums. Thank you for posting your question about the Marshmallow release for the Note 4.
I totally understand the need for the latest version of your OS, and sincerely apologize for the delay. We continue to try and improve our turnaround time that it takes to get updates to our customers. We also know that this doesn’t look good on our part.
I do not have a firm date for when Marshmallow will be available for the Note 4. Updates are often posted in the day they are released. I don’t currently have an estimated time of the release, but you will be updated as soon as we have more details.
When Marshmallow does become available, you will receive an over the air notification on your device with step-by-step instructions to update your software.
For more updates and discussion about Marshmallow availability, please visit https://forums.att.com/t5/Android/Marshmallow-Updates-amp-Discussion/m-p/4817255#M69781
Thank you for continued patience!

Not sure where you get this "been out over a year" considering it's release wasn't until OCTOBER of 2015 and this is for NEXUS devices, not other manufactuerrs. Samsung didn't release it until January 2016 for the bulk of phones. Release to manufacturer is not a base to establish when it's supposed to be released. I'd suggest doing a big of research before embellishing claims that have no basis in fact.
Branded devices work on the carrier schedule. AT&T does not provide status updates nor any kind of ETA. The day it's released, is when everyone finds out.

I am sorry for the inconvenience and frustration but the updates are released by the manufacturer. You can contact us online here, if you prefer. Many people prefer the convenience and ease of the online experience!

@BlairWare
Your dates may be a bit off. (Okay, way off).
The first phones to debut with Marshmallow were the Nexus 6P and 5x from Google. These phones were available for preorder late September 2015.
Samsung and other manufacturers did not release marshmallow for any phones until very early 2016. The first phones to get android 6 were the more recently released phones, then the most popular Galaxy S6 and S6 Active.

Despite @SteelersPitt ire over the release...the ATT note 4 update is not even in testing by ATT yet. Samsung's own website has it still with Samsung under development.

Patience has run out with Note 4 customers, when other carriers smaller than AT&T have had it out a month or more. Not that AT&T cares.

I don't think you are getting it. ATT does not have the update.
Samsung has to forward the update, then it is tested by ATT. 2 carriers do not yet have Samsung's note 4 update.
Complain to Samsung.
