Why does the volume on my phone change by itself?

I have an LG Phoenix 2.  I have Pandora installed to listen to while I jog.   However, the volume keeps going down by itself.   I had my phone in a pouch around my waist, so I thought maybe I was bumping the volume by accident.   I removed the phone and held it in my hand and it still kept doing it.  It turns itself all the way down and I constantly have to keep turning it up.  Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Hello @tdrengacs,

Thank you for taking the time to reach out to us on the Community Forums! I’m sorry to hear the volume keeps turning itself off, this is definitely not normal.

If this is only occurring when you are running Pandora, it could be the app itself. Please try uninstalling and re-installing the device, along with rebooting the phone.

If this only happens when you’re jogging, it could be due to movement. Something internal in the phone is thinking the buttons are being pressed, which may indicate a hardware issue.

I would recommend completing a factory reset. This will revert the phone back to brand new, and should force it to behave like new. You can find the reset steps in our Device Support. Select your make and model of phone, and then click on Troubleshooting > Reset Device. Please be sure to backup any information prior to the reset.

Please let me know if you need any additional assistance. We want to ensure your issue is taken care of!

Thank you!   This worked!   I un-installed and re-installed Pandora and re-booted the phone.

The problem is the headphones. My headphones have a built-in microphone with a volume control and when I unplug them I had normal operation but as soon as I plugged them in I could not keep the volume turned up. I came home put in an older set of headphones that do not have volume control and had no issues. Rebooting the app or putting it in safe mode does nothing. That'll be $5 thank you.  😉   Joseph ***  Lakeland Florida

Everysince Directv updated the software about two weeks ago ( May 1 2018 maybe), the volume goes DOWN every time I do just about anything. After a few seconds, it goes back to normal.   I have to rewind many seconds to hear the audio I missed.!!!!
