Voicemail service not available

Phone:  HTC A9

 

When accessing voicemail I get the "Service Not Available" message.  It has been this way for the last 5 days ...

This is the first time this has happened in the last 4 years.

The restaurant analogy could work, but it would be more like this;

 

"I'd like a steak please"

"Yes sir, your steak will be here very soon"

"Um, I've been waiting a while, how long will my steak be?"

"It will be here very soon"

"Um, any update?"

"Actually, we've run out of steak"

"You've run out of steak? When did that happen?"

"Last week, how about a mint while you wait?"

"Last week? But I specifically came here to eat steak, why didn't you tell me when I ordered steak that you were out of steak?"

"The manager didn't tell me we were out of steak"

"I'm hungry, can I get something else to eat instead?"

"No need, sir, I promise you they are cooking your steak right now"

"But you said you had no steak. I'm leaving now"

"Ok sir, you'll just need to pay for your steak, I'll bring the check"

My voicemail has not been working for nearly a month now. I also received info from "advanced" technical support that the solution was fixed and that they were now "cleaning" up accounts. They were 65% complete! That is complete Bull#$@%! Our other cell on the same account was OK, but one week ago that VM stopped as well! Unacceptable! Today I chatted again with support for status and they told me it would be back up and running with 48 hours! We'll see because I really hate to call any one a liar but seriously!!!!

I filed a complaint with the FCC yesterday and received a call from AT&T representative today whoi assured me that the problem will be fixed by Oct 17, but I am not holding my breath

Today, AT&T told me (via their Facebook page) that "this is a top priority and AT&T is working around the clock to provide a resolution."

Great!!! So my voice mail worked for 1 1/2 days,. Now back to the same SORRY message.
I have no other choice now but to switch providers!

If there is one thing I learned working at AT&T, is to keep escalating until you get it fixed. I did not give up and it finally made the news a few hours ago. I went on their Facebook page and "Liked it". Then sent a message asking
when the service would be restored. I was asked for my Zip code, phone
number and account number. I Got this reply and no further info:

We are sorry you're experiencing this, Hal. We're still looking into it. -

Came back to read your "solution", just for laughs.  I'll come back once a week as this "solution" enters it's second MONTH.
