This kind of messaging issue can be common but it is easily fixed! I would be glad to help you out!
If there is no message center number set, it will prevent you from sending messages altogether. The default number for all AT&T SIM cards is +13123149810.
I am confident by entering it in, it will resolve the problem. However, If you happen to continue experiencing issues, please check out the Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool.
