Syncing problem

My LG Escape 2 will not sync e-mail from my Outlook account. I read a tutorial which said I should:

Tap "UPDATE SCHEDULE." After that, I should be able to scroll to options for "INCOMING SERVER SETTINGS" and "OUTGOING SERVER SETTINGS."  I do not have those options. I can't get my phone to give me any option other than "MANUAL" sync, however, when I try to sync the phone to my e-mail account, I get a message that there is not enough storage available. My e-mail account when viewed on my PC is under 5 GB, but on my phone, it shows that my e-mail file is over 16GB. Impossible on a phone that has only 8GB of storage, and no SD card for additional storage, right? I would like to be able to sync my phone with my PC in a way that allows my PC to override what is on my phone. Currently, it seems liek the only way I can reduce the size of my phone's e-mail is to individually delete e-mail messages, or delete all e-mails at once. Are there any suggestions for how I can customize my sync function, or at minimum, selective deleting e-mails by date range? Thanks

Hello @1passyunk!

Thank you for posting your concern! I can totally understand how important it is to be able to sync your emails. It will be my pleasure to help!

After doing some research, I was able to find useful steps to resolve this problem. The first thing you can try is uninstalling your Outlook app from the device and re-installing it to make sure you have the latest version. Also, try deleting your device from the email account’s list. What this does is removes the partnership between the mobile device and your mailbox and fixes sync issues. To complete this, please follow the steps below:

  • Sign in to Outlook
  • Choose Settings > click Options
  • In the left navigation bar, under General, choose Mobile Devices
  • Select your phone in the list, and then select Remove
  • Select Yes to confirm
  • Power your phone Off completely
  • Restart your device after a few seconds, and then try syncing your mailbox again to verify the issue has been resolved.

I hope these steps work for you! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Have a nice day!
