Synching messages from Samsung Galaxy to AT&T Trek tablet

My husband has a new AT&T Trek tablet and was able to synch his emails and contacts (they are not Google but the old Compuserve service) from his Samsung Galaxy 6 to it. However, he does not know how to transfer the text messages that are already on his Samsung and continue synching them on the two devices. Thank you for your help..

Hey again @CaryID!

Thanks for touching base!

No need to worry! He shouldn’t lose any of his sent messages with AT&T Messages.

Basically this is a service that syncs the messages from the S6 to a cloud service. The tablet can then access those texts via the AT&T Messages application and send/receive under the phone number using Wi-Fi.

You will need to set-up AT&T Messages on the S6 first, then log into it on the tablet using the AT&T User ID that has the S6’s phone number associated with it. If you do not have such a User ID, you can create one by going here, and selecting “Sign up.”!

Thanks for reaching out! We’re glad to answer any and all questions you may have! Happy messaging!

Hi @CarylD!

The AT&T Trek is a great device, and glad to hear your husband was able to sync his email and contacts!

He can also use the AT&T Messages service to Send and receive text & picture messages from his tablet.  This service will also keep a record of the messages from the time you set it up and while it’s in use whether sending and receiving messages from his phone or tablet.

He can download the app here or by going to the Play Store on the tablet and searching for AT&T Messages for Tablet. Additional information can be found on our AT&T Messages page.

I hope this helps and have a fantastic day!

Thank you for your response. The AT&T Messages icon was already installed on his phone and tablet when he bought them and he can activate them. However, he does not want to lose the messages that he already received and sent on the Samsung Galaxy message link. As noted, all other data transferred from the phone to the tablet and he would like to transfer this as well. Is there a way to do this?

Thank you.

A belated thanks for your help. The only problem was that I did not realize that he would have to use the same user ID and password on his Android that I use for AT&T on my iPhone, so we tried using a dfferent one for him. Once we got that straightened out (we were blocked for a while), all went well and his messages are now on both his Samsung phone and the new tablet through AT&T Messges.
