Question

I have bought unlocked at&t Lg G3. I have used other carrier then at&t. I am not ableto update my phone to latest software version. Help me!!

it has to be an active line to get data so the network can see the phone.

Sorry the phone has to be on the att network to start an ota update. You can root it and load the update that way

what if I put at&t sim card and try to update my phone, can i do that?

as long as the sim is from an active line then yes.  also check the ATT support docs to see if your on the current version. http://www.att.com/esupport/softwareUpdateArticle.jsp?sid=KB425811&cv=820

What if phone is unlocked and than I put at&t sim card on phone and than try to install the update, will it work?

what baseband is on the phone it maybe upto date

No my phone is not upto date I am on d8510d software version but d8510f isnew version and i am not able to upgrade it.

If your phone works satisfactorily, I wouldn't worry about it. Whatever that update was, it was minor.
