Hi there @CEG3rd!

I’m happy to see you have joined our Community Forums with this inquiry. It’s always important to stay atop of your phones software update for the latest updated security enhancements and features. I will be glad to assist you further!

When we release the latest software for your device, we always send out the update based on our customers IMEI number. The update may take some time to reach your device by over the air notification.

When you attempt to update your software, I always recommend ensuring you have a strong Wi-Fi connection and enough storage space on your device. This will ensure a smooth software update download.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns. Have an amazing rest of your weekend!

Who knew they sold so many Z958's that after almost two months I have still not gotten the security update.  I dare to dream one day the phone will get Android 7.0, but I figure by then pigs will be flying or I would have moved onto a new phone.

you do understand to get updates you need a DATA PLAN.  Looking at your old posts you are not using a data plan....

Glimmerman  You are presuming quite a bit about my data status.  As far as you know, I'm on a new plan with data.  Also, you are wrong about data and updates.  I know from personal experience.  All you need is a Wi-Fi connection to get FOTA updates.

I was going off your old posts a few months back about being on the 10 cent plan....  And there are new requirements for updates I know the last time I had a sim card with data turned off the s7 active would not update I turned on data and bang I got the update now you still have to be on wifi for it to work.  Make sure your imei matches what is on your account also.

Well, you will never believe this.  I barely believe it, as many times as I refreshed update over the past two months.  I had been out of the house, away from my own Wi-Fi for several hours, but with it enabled and when I walked in the door I was about to put down my phone when I got a notice of available update.  Not only did I get it without data, but it beat me to to the punch and notified me.  That part is a first.  Pretty interesting coincidence.
