Person bought my phone by scamming me through eBay and never paid for it

@Newt6398 Depending on what you did, you might have some protection through eBay or PayPal.

 

I think you'd have to report it as stolen to AT&T to have it locked (assuming you bought it through AT&T).

If you had deactivated it from AT&T, I'm not sure what your options are.

paypal is very secure, did you use PayPal?

 

Yes I use PayPal the guy sent me a fake email like it was from PayPal but it wasn't saying the funds are released when they weren't

Hmmm.  For future reference all payment should go through EBay.  

Every now and then a buyer will try to make a deal outside eBay.  This is when you can lose your eBay protection.

I agree I thought it was since he message me through eBay and says I got a PayPal confirmation I didn't realize the transaction was not going to eBay

Bummer.  Some guy tried to buy my international Samsung that way.  I refused to deal
