Not receiving messages

Hello

I have a Google Pixel 2 XL fully updares. I'm being informed by multiple friends that I haven't received their MMS message, missing multiple messages on group chats and now just not receiving texts from 1 on 1 conversations. I thought it was the texting app but I downloaded a new one and same problem. What can I do?

I am having the exact same issue. Pixel 2 XL and over the past few days, I have not been able to consistently receive MMS. I do not get pictures from anybody and am missing messages .

I would love a fix. It was fine until a few days ago.

Same deal for me, please let me know if you find a solution. I have a regular pixel2 and it was fine until a few days ago.

Well that's interesting it's doing it in the same timeline. I called AT&T
for 4hrs and did all the resets and new SIM. AT&T says when they tested
their signals it received some but not others and they think the phone is
faulty. I called google and did all the safe mode, reset, etc. with no luck
so going to order a warranty replacement

I was able to fix it. If you go to settings - network - advanced, turn off Enhanced 4G LTE Mode.

So I did the following:

1) verified no group message picture received

2) switched sim into old phone. Verified group message picture received

3) switched sim back. Verified group message picture received

So maybe that worked for me or maybe its a coincidence. Its possible that taking the sim in/out had the same reset effect that mrbogart found on LTE  off. ?

meadsky6@ you said you tried a new sim, so if that didn't work, seems like its different than mine. I'm convinced its an ATT thing.

Never mind, just ran test with large family group test. Pictures, videos, texts, all was well, until I just missed a few. Was at least better than before, in which I didn't get any pictures at all. I'll try using my old 5X for a few days, see if that gives me a different result. Aggravating. I had tried ATT chat support earlier and they promised to follow up. Will see what they say.

Yeah Im convinced it's an AT&T thing. I did look into this turning off the
enhanced 4g LTE thing and done so. So far so good it appears. Apparently
non-AT&T branded phones don't get to enjoy those benefits or HD Voice.
Which makes sense because after my update I had HD Voice and now I don't.

Honestly it's hard to tell what "works" because you don't know what you
dont know. I will say I turned off the Enhanced feature and so far I've
received two pictures and noone has told me I missed a message but we will
see. I'm still getting a warranty replacement in the meantime. If it
doesn't work at least I'll have one on the way but again, feels like AT&T
punishing us for an unlocked phone.

I am having the same issue. Set up a new APN, turned off enhanced LTE, spoke with Google and went through several steps to attempt to fix (including factory reset). Google wants me to speak with AT&T and report back if I still have issues. I will have to call when I get free, but I am not looking forward to spending hours on the phone. If this cannot be rectified, I will just go to Verizon. Free HBO doesn't make up for the headache and unknown missed messages. If anyone has any success with AT&T, please post the results.

Per the suggestion above I turned off the enhanced LTE feature, reset my
network (Note: NOT my phone) and then restarted and it's noticably better
after a full day. I've gotten probably 20 pictures and group texts are
coming through.

AT&T contacted me again via text message to tell me that their highest
escalation team found no problem (...thanks) so I guess that is that from
their end. I'm still getting a replacement from Google just in case
anything changes but so far so good.

It's annoying that AT&T denies features to non- AT&T branded phones but
still has links on their own website advertising purchasing the Pixel 2.
>From my research there's no way to get Enhanced LTE with an unlocked phone
and if you do have it AT&T will remove it when they figure it out.
