Not receiving group text messages if they include an Android in the group

I got my Samsung Galaxy S8 Active a couple months ago. I have noticed that in 2 separate group threads that I'm not receiving messages from 1 or more people in each thread. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Experiencing issues with group text message can certainly be inconvenient. I am happy to help!

Our Troubleshoot & Resolve Tool is a great resource to use with any issue you may encounter. Simply choose the device you are using, and under Service/network issues select Messaging. Then follow the prompts thereafter. For a more personal experience, please login using your myAT&T credentials.

If MMS is working (picture/audio) messaging then everything, from a network perspective, is on and working as it should.

 

Group messaging is complex and there isn't really a way to troubleshoot failures across multiple carriers, device types and so forth. It's part of the reason why networks limit them to under 20 members (AT&T is only 10). If there is a failure of your messages being delivered, then AT&T can check the logs to ensure everything was sent out to the proper carrier's message center. Now on the receiving end if there is no log of that person's message then it's an issue on their end.
