My S8+ froze after update. Need help

I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy 8+, not sure what operating system. Last night I received a notice to update, so I did before bed. Woke up today, phone just boots, then reboots, then reboots and so on.

Went into recovery mode, cleared cache, no change. Just in case, i charged the phone, and powered off.  Back in recovery, did a reset to factory, or whatever it said.

Reboot from there, nothing. Help

Salutations @Melindac,

I’m sorry to hear your phone is stuck in a boot-loop. I would be more than happy to help!

To resolve this issue, I would suggest going into recovery mode and performing a factory reset. You can start the reset by going to Settings> General management> Reset > Factory reset data> RESET> DELETE ALL.

If a factory reset has been performed and the boot-loop is still occurring, please reach back out, so I can look into other resolutions for you. Thank you and I hope you have a great day!

Thank you for your offer. I spoke to AT&T yesterday, and he went through the same conversation. I explained that I HAD gone into safe mode first, I HAD gone to Recovery from then on, I HAD cleared cache, I HAD reset to factory, I HAD made sure it was properly charged. We did all of these things again, which I was happy to do, as he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. In the end his conclusion was WARRANTY IN FORCE! REPLACE IT!
And that is what we are doing. For anyone considering this phone, and read this and think the Samsung G8+is an unreliable phone, I urge you to see this as an anomaly, not a pattern. The ATT guy said it is the first loop problem he has seen on a Samsung (though LG had this issue a few years ago). I love this phone, and i love the service I get from ATT and no, they did not ask or pay me to say that.
