Moto X Customization...

What are the actual requirements? Is the purchase from an AT&T store of a Motomaker card required? The redirect from the AT&T website to the Motorola website gets you into the process of customizing the purchase of a Moto X but the cart and subsequent process fail consistently. Ideas?

To answer my own question.

You can't buy a Motomaker Card or PIN from ATT at this time.

In the future the Moto X2 32GB phone will be available as a customizable model through ATT. Possibly in time for the holiday season, at an additional cost. But, not the 16GB version which I would actually prefer.

In their infinite wisdom ATT marketing execs have chosen to market a phone in their stores that the manufacturer allows to be fully customized in thousands of combinations of available options quickly and easily when a customer visiting the store purchases a PIN code and goes to the manufacturer's website to personalize their purchase.

Then, not actually offer to sell the PIN to customers, nor inform the reps in the store about any of this. Many of the reps just think it is another phone that comes in two colors.

ATT chooses to only make this breathtakingly wonderful plethora of personality available in Black, or White, at the store.

This is only slightly better than Henry Ford who introduced the Model T, back when ATT was in its infancy, in any color you want, as long as it is Black.

A Sterling example of lackluster presentation whereby they have prevented the easy application of a spectacular innovation in cell phone marketing.

Brilliant!

Motorola support has indicated in a correspondence that AT&T will be releasing Moto Maker cards on October 24th.
