Hi there @Kgmc11!

I’m afraid we still have no ETA on the 6.0 update for the Note 4. Our network team works with Samsung to do the best job they can of adapting the software for our network, hence different carriers and devices receive the updates at different times. My apologies for the delay.

If you’d like to keep update with all the latest Marshmallow news, feel free to follow our main thread on the matter here.

Any new releases and info will be updated there as quickly as any other channel, so it’s a great discussion!

I appreciate you reaching out to us. Please have a fantastic day!

Although I have liked my note 4 I will not be buying any more note products due to the slow operating system upgrades.  Very dissapointing.  I think Nexus products are for me since I like the most advanced android available.

Long time lurker, first time poster here(due to this ongoing Note 4 Marshmallow update debacle). Been with AT&T for Many years, Cingular before that(until AT&T acquired them), and I'm really dating myself now, with Cellular One before that, back when mobile phones were the size of bricks... AT&T should be ashamed of themselves, and they should also be prepared to lose a good chunk of customers because of the incompetent mishandling of this Android 6.0.1 rollout(or lack thereof). Hiding behind a "we're working with Samsung to make sure the software works with our network" doesn't wash at all guys. AT&T is the last carrier in the United States, not last large carrier mind you, but the last carrier PERIOD to roll out Android Marshmallow to the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Samsung themselves rolled out the update to this phone almost three months ago, and all of the other carriers; Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, etc. have followed suit since that update went live on Samsung's servers. Saying that it's network and software related is just ridiculous because T-Mobile primarily utilizes AT&T's 4G LTE network & they have had NO problems updating all of their customers Note 4's to 6.0.1. The hardware in this model of phone is virtually the same across all carrier variants, before you guys go saying that is not the case. I've worked in IT for 20+ years and based on that extensive experience with technology of all shapes, sizes, stripes and colors, I sincerely believe that this delay is being caused by issues AT&T is experiencing with the whopping amount of bloatware that they add to their phones, particularly after an OS update...I'll double down on that educated guess, and speculate that they may be encountering issues with how their bloatware interacts with the new "app permissions" feature in Android Marshmallow, i.e. their bloatware can be easily negated and/or it's functionality can be completely nullified by this OS feature, which of course they don't want! Word to the wise AT&T...just be up front with your customer base. Tell us the truth, rather than repeatedly lying about "compatibility issues" that NO other carrier is running into! Even ones using your very own network!! Lying makes you look terrible at best as a company, and quite frankly it has convinced me(and I imagine many others) to move on to another carrier in the very near future. Please don't insult my or the other patient at&t customers intelligence with another canned response to this post. Just do the right thing, and get the update pushed out live on your servers! Or don't, and witness the backlash.

Walkinstownlad, you hit it on the head.  I too am a very long time customer of AT&T through all the iterations: Cellular One, AT&T v1, Cingular, AT&T v2 (current iteration) 20+ years.  I hate to agree with you but AT&T as a company is double faced and lies to customers all the time.

I have been contract free for over 10 years.  Why am I still a customer, I get a 25% discount on service (through my employer) and their coverage is generally better than the other carriers.

Your take on the issue is likely correct, Android 6 app permissions is likely a huge thorn in their side since they like to load up their phones with useless duplicates of built-in Android Apps.  Really who is going to pay for AT&T Navigator when Google Maps works infinitely better and is F.R.E.E.

The first thing I do when I get a new AT&T phone is disable\uninstall EVERYTHING they pre-load on the phone. With app permissions you can further neuter their bloatware which they clearly don’t want.

I will likely move to the Note 7 however I will buy it directly from Samsung through Amazon with NO AT&T BLOATWARE!

You can buy an unlocked Galaxy S7 from Amazon for $599

The same phone from AT&T with all of their garbage pre-installed is $694.99

The unlocked phones get the updates directly from Samsung so you don’t have to wait for AT&T to remove features add bloatware and destroy the package thereby adding months to the deployment.

Which is precisely why we are all reading this forum.

Go Team AT&T you are last again!

Yep, you reps should do your jod and tell att how bad of a choice they are making to choose bloatware over paying customers!! We don't even use the stupid for-pay s*** that works worse than the other free options out there!!

@Walkinstownlad

Last I looked tmobile OWNS there own towers....  They dont use ATT unless roaming....

Now on to your part about bloatware not working with MM....  UM you do realize the s7 series the s6 series and the note 5 are running MM?????  If that was the case they would have problems with all there updates.  The SOC in this case has nothing to do with it since Bloat is a SIMPLE APK file.
