Hey @JamesMatula,
So sorry to hear you got locked out of your tablet. I did this to my Samsung one time and it’s just not fun at all. I would be more than happy to assist you with getting back into your tablet and on your way.
The best and easiest way in order to get back into the device is to factory reset it. Please keep in mind, this will delete any personal items on the tablet, such as pictures, apps, etc. Without being able to get into it with the preferred security measure which was already set up, this would be the only way to get back into the device.
In order to factory reset, you will want to:
Once this is complete, you will be able to set up the tablet again like it’s brand new. If you used a Gmail account with the tablet, please be sure to enter the same one you used when originally setting it up to continue.
I hope this has been insightful for you! Thanks for reaching out to us and have a splendid rest of your week.

Hey @Jramos6,
Welcome to the Community Forums! I’m sorry you’re having issues getting logged into your original Google account. Thank you for trying those troubleshooting steps! I will be happy to share some information about this.
Did you originally set up this device? Could there be any other Gmail accounts associated with it? If this is a secondary line it might have been set up with the primary’s Gmail address. With the new operating system update, when you factory reset a device which runs Android Marshmallow this is included as a new security feature.
I look forward to your response, best regards!

If you factory reset a device and it is signed into a Google Account then FRP is active. If you reset the password to the Google Account it triggers a 24 HOUR wait period before it will accept the new password.

I reset my mom tab because she forgot the the pin and now she don't know the email or the password. Is there a way around that to set it up for her again?

The reset worked perfectly, the only problem... it was never set up with a google account & now it won’t go any farther without it. Now what?
