Little U.S. Celluar Has Kit Kat 4.4 S 4

Android 4.4 KitKat updates for both the international and U.S. Cellular models of the Galaxy S4 are reportedly available in OTA form or via Samsung’s Kies desktop software. If you’ve yet to receive a notification from your handset, you can always check manually by going to Settings> More> About Device> Software.  Considering the US Cellular Galaxy S4 is already reportedly starting to roll out, we’d imagine that larger U.S. carriers should follow shortly. Either way, we’ll be sure to report back as soon as we learn more!

Yet Again AT&T is behind!!!

Earlier today we learned that Sprint and US Cellular are rolling out Android 4.4 KitKat to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, roughly a month after the update first surfaced for the international version of the Galaxy Note 3. Now we have learned that select Galaxy S4 users are also getting some KitKat lovin’

The availability of updates has little or nothing to so with the size of the carrier, and probably more to do with the carriers' internal processes.  AT&T in particular is notorious for delays for "testing" of updates (which probably more accurately translates to "we'll get to it when we get to it").

The large size of a company is not always a good things.  As someone who works for a huge company (70,000+ employees), we often say its like a big ship that takes a long time to change directions.  The large size of a company can often be a hindrance in terms of extraneous processes and bureacracy.

Exactly redpoint73.  That and market share.  While some might argue that Sprint is a large company and they have no problems releasing updates first they also have terrible market share so they need to differentiate themselves from the competition.  HTC is doing it with their HTC Advantage and to some degree this emphasis on getting updates out quickly with more transparency.  But obviously the carriers are not making that last part easy.

this isn't to make excuses for ATT but these are the realities we have to deal with.   ATT has nothing to lose by dragging their feet.  A customer here and there means nothing To them.  The few of us screaming for updates are just a drop in the bucket in their customer base.

It's very annoying that AT&T waits forever to push updates, Honestly I'm about to get a google edition because updates just take way to long, Sprint and U.s cellular have no problem even communicating about getting their updates out, but by the time AT&T adds all their bloat ware and junk 5.0 will be out

Get your stuff together AT&T.
