Last update broke Direct Call feature

As the title states:

S6 Active. Last update pushed (forced) out Monday broke direct call feature. Tried turning it off > reboot > then back on. no luck

can't wait to find out what else it broke.

Still don't understand why ,mobile devices don't offer the user to control which updates to apply.

I work in IT and can control all PC updates and test first. not so with mobile devices.....sigh.......

Hi there @beejay!

Oh no! I am sorry to hear you are experiencing problems with your Direct Call feature. This tool is certainly beneficial due to the easiness. I would like to assist you in resolving this!

You performed a great step in rebooting your phone. I would also suggest to toggle the setting in your phone too. You can do this by tapping Menu > Settings > My Device > Motion. Touch the slider icon to ON or OFF, depending on its current state. Also ensure the Direct Call checkbox Is turned on.

Since the issue started after the update, I suggest accessing your device recovery mode to clear cache. Cache is background trash which can contribute to your phones glitches; it could also assist in correcting the problem. It will not erase anything personal.

You can learn how to access this by visiting our Device Support Tool. Select your make and model phone, click on View all Solutions. Once there, select Troubleshooting >Reset Device > follow the steps for accessing your recovery mode. On the recovery menu, select Clear Cache Partition.

In the case you are still experiencing issues. I invite you to take the device to a near Samsung Experience. This way you can have the latest software update re-applied to your phone. This can help to clear up any issues.

I hope you have a good weekend!
