How do you copy files from WinXP to Atrix 4G?
Whenever I connect my new Atrix to my WinXP via the usb cable I don't get the usual "Auto Play" box giving me a choice of how to access the phone. As a result, I can't "see" my 2 gig micro sd card when I use Windows Explorer. Also, where can I get information on the file structure of the phone storage area?
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Although this will be the last step before disconnecting the phone don't forget to use Safely Remove Hardware to ensure that the internal SD card and external SD card both mount. I can't remember if XP called this "Safely Remove Hardware" or something very similar but you get the idea.
This is link with some screen captures.

When connecting the phone you might also get a pop up asking if you want to scan the phone, you can safely skip that.

Ensure your phone screen is unlocked.
Connect the USB cable to your desktop and your phone.
Your phone will beep (normal mode).
A "USB connection" notification will appear , tap and pull down the notification bar at the top of the screen and tap "USB connection" then select "USB Mass Storage"
If your phone does not recognize the USB connection, please turn the phone off then on and try again.
The drive will now appear
For Windows, the drive will appear under "My Computer" as a "Removable Disk".
For MACs, the drive will appear under "DEVICES" in "Finder".

Tilteduser,
Thanks for the note.
If the instructions from WBASC are followed (they worked perfectly), your instructions must also be followed.
Again, thanks for the help!
