How Do I Get Rid of Voice Notification When I Get a Text?

Hello, I have a Samsung Galaxy Express Go Phone that I just bought last week.

Whenever I get a text message from someone in my contacts, the phone actually says the name of the person sending the text.

For example, “New message from Joe Smith.”

I absolutely have to make that stop, for privacy issues.  I want there to be some sort of sound, notifying me of an incoming text message, but definitely not this voice notification.

The OS on this phone is Android 4.1.2.

How can I get rid of the voice notification and replace it with a plain old chime or something like that?  Thank you.

Check two settings.

Driving Mode - Dropdown menu Quick Settings

Talkback - Settings > Accessibility > Talkback

Also, some 3rd party launchers, like Go Launcher for example, include voice notifications. If you're running a 3rd party launcher, check its Accessibility settings as well (if applicable).
