Hardware ID Missing - message on PC.
I have to disconnect and reconnect my new Galaxy S3, 3 or 4 times before it shows up on my PC
I get the error message "Hardware ID Missing"
I've read some blogs about many other people having this problem. They're talking about rooting and other things I'd rather not do with a new phone. I have 4.11 firmware
Any help would be great.

Rooting your phone should be completely unnecessary.
You may want to try downgrading your driver to a previous version. I had to revert to 1.4.6.0. in order to fix this exact issue sometime back.

I installed the Kies software from Samsung. Everything works perfectly. Kies installed new good working drivers.
I guess Kies for Android is like iTunes for iPhone.

Kind of. Kies is to Samsung Androids what iTunes is to iPhones.
