HTC Inspire

tech specs on att website show a fm tuner built in to the phone - if it is true or not don't know.

I downloaded the manul from HTC and on page 183 it states to hook up a head set since it uses it as the antenna and launch the FM Radio app

Wingrider is correct, there is a preloaded FM radio app on the Inspire.  Look in the alphabetical listing of apps, and it should be between FLASH PLAYER SETTINGS and FOOTPRINTS, and to use it, you must use a wired headset.

Ditto on usung a wired headset.  It is needed to act as the antenna.
