I'm in North Carolina just did a manual update and it is updating as we speak. but it is like at a snails pace cut in half lol
Same here, in the Charlotte area. I just want this slow d/l to STOP, but it won't let me. How can I effectively put a STOP to this, or can I refuse to install it after it finally finsihes its slow d/l?

A few weeks ago I attempted to download the android 4.3 update and the download failed and since then the phone says the software is up to date (even though it is still 4.2.2) and is says I have to wait 8250 hours (yes that's what is says) to check for update. How can I rectify this situation? !

Man this sounds like a nightmare. Reminds me of when a bunch of us were trying to get an update for our Samsung Infuse. AT&T released then froze it and kept pushing it back. We finally did a manual update with some other software app, kind of like a manual install after someone found the rom.
It was kind of like a hack I think cus it wasn't an official version but worked fine. Within a couple weeks AT&T released their official verson through kies.
By the way, why did they disable updating through Kies?

don't get the watch galaxy gear as you can't get text messages from your samsung galaxy s4 on the watch ...I got the sony smartch watch 2 and works great with samsung galaxy s4 and 100.00 less than gear

I'm pretty upset I lost the Mobile Data toggle in the 4.3 update. That was the toggle I used most in the quick settings. Fix it please! I don't know why they would remove such a useful feature.

I've been unable to get the Android 4.3 update for my Galaxt S4. I tried the software update in Settings and it will not pull down. I've tried changing the date, month and year to see if that would affect the availability, but it would still not pull down.
After reading on the forums that AT&T support can pushed down the update, I requested via online/chat support. The agent said they could not do it and for me to call Samsung. I called Samsung and they sent me back to AT&T.
Is there anyway to have someone at AT&T push down the update to me? Or is there an option to download the new Android version and install it through KIES?
This is very frustrating and as I never had these problems with updating iOS versions on my Iphones. I was able to update iOS myself, have the AT&T store reps do it or someone at a Genius Bar do it.

The community specialist fixed mine up with a manual push update within 24 hours and it works flawlessly.
go back in this forum and you will find their connection ....trust me it works.
clg63 you were lucky. I requested that and was told to speak with Samsung.
