Double tap to unlock phone during a phone call

I have a galaxy s7 and all of the sudden when I make or receive phone calls it says to double tap to unlock the screen. I can't hear or talk to anyone unless I put the phone on speaker phone. I have done a factory reset and have the latest software update. This issue started before the software update. My phone does not have the talk back feature that everyone says makes this "double tap to unlock" work. Help! This phone is basically useless now and I've only had it a year and it's out of warranty.

Greetings @Kenglespr,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community Forums. I apologize you are having issues with the touchscreen on your device. I would be glad to assist with this.

Since you have already completed a factory reset and the issue is still persistent, the final step would be to look into replacement options. If you do not mind, I would like to get in contact with you so we can gather additional details. I am going to need some account specific information so I will be sending you a private message shortly.

I look forward to working with you and finding a resolution! Have a great rest of your day.

You have a loose connection in the phone. Happened to me when having my battery replaced. Easy fix at any phone repair place.

Thank you! It did start right after I had the battery replaced.
