Data service is blocked message on phone

My phone was working fine earlier in Lexington, Kentucky. As soon as I got home to Northern Kentucky, I'm now getting a message saying that data service is blocked. What is going on? I can't do anything unless I'm on WiFi now.

I'm using an LG V20, my bill isn't due yet, and I still have 4GB of data left. I've tried resetting the network on the phone, that didn't work. Restarting the phone doesn't help either. There was a big storm that did come through earlier, could that have something to do with it?

Greetings @Resendetra,

My first suggestion would be to check the device is properly setup for LTE/4G GSM service. Please visit Settings > More > Mobile networks > Preferred Network Type > and make sure it’s set to LTE (may appear as 4G instead) or to 3G (if LTE/4G is not available). Please restart the device afterwards.

If the problem remains, try resetting your network settings. You may be able to find this option either under Settings > CONNECTIONS > More connection settings > Reset network settings > RESET SETTINGS, or under Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset > Reset settings > Reset settings. You may need to re-add any saved Wi-Fi networks or Bluetooth connections since they will be deleted. Please don’t forget to restart your device afterwards as well.

If this is an unlocked phone, there could be an issue with the settings.  With unlocked phones, the APN settings sometimes need to be manually set to AT&T from the previous carrier. The good news is, it is relatively easy and we have a great tutorial on how to ensure they match correctly with our network.  The Android settings are towards the top of the page. Please make sure all the information in the online table is fixed in the phone to match. This will also help with your ability to send and receive pictures as well.

Thanks and I look forward to resolving this!
