Chinese text being received by friends instead of normal text
I have noticed recently, over the past week to week and a half that, whenever I sent my boyfriend text messages that he would receive it in Chinese. I initially thought that it was his phone since he was the only one receiving them that way. I looked online to try and find a way to resolve the issue and read that downloading an Antivirus app could help. Well, later on in the day I messaged a friend of mine and she said she received my text in Chinese symbols. It was then that I realized that it was my phone. I did a scan with the Lookout app (it was already installed on my Samsung Galaxy S7) & the only "adware found" was the Music Paradise Pro app. It was then uninstalled but when I resent the same text to my friend, she still received it in Chinese symbols. I reached out through chat to an ATT employee last night amd spoke with Amber on the issue and a Network Reset was suggested and done with no improvement. Unfortunately the chat was lost since I am currently in MO visiting my friend & the service tends to drop in random areas. She mentioned starting a case and that they had received a few reports similar to mine. I don't know if anyone has found a way to resolve it because it seems to be doing it more and more often and I am getting a bit annoyed in having to screenshot every conversation between my boyfriend & I so he knows what it is I'm sending him. My phone states to be updated in software but when I double checked what it was supposed to be updated to, the information did not match up at all. I do want to wait in updating until I can save my pictures on my computer since I am out of town. Again, if anyone knows how to resolve this issue, please let me know!

Hi there @AdiB11!
Thanks for reaching out about this! That issue is definitely frustrating!
I appreciate your input @Saltygrave! You are correct, it seems to be triggering off emojis and special characters.
We’re working on a fix on the back end for this, at the moment if you are using advanced messaging on your android, disabling it seems to help alleviate the issue somewhat.
You can typically modify advanced message if it’s on by going to Messages > MORE > Settings > Advanced Messaging.
I hope helps out, have an excellent day!
