Anyone know why Bixby Voice isnt working on S8+

I have everything downloaded and updated but it just tells me I need to do a software update. But I go to settings and I already have the most recent update from June 22nd. What is going on?

Welcome to the Community Forums! I can understand how troubling it is having this app give you issues. I would be more than happy to assist you with this!


The first step I would recommend is clearing the cache partition of your device. To do so please follow these steps:


1.    Turn off the device

2.    Press and hold the Volume Up key, Home key, and Power key at the same time.

3.    When the phone powers on, the Android System Recovery screen will appear

4.    Release all of the keys

5.    Press the Volume down key to highlight “Wipe cache partition”

6.    Press the Power key to select


After the phone restarts, please test it out! I also recommend visiting our Troubleshoot and Resolve Tool online for more troubleshooting steps. It is a fantastic resource which gives personalized steps, and can pinpoint the source of the error! Once on the page, select your phone’s make and model to get started.

I have tried this and have not had success getting it to work. I have also tried a soft reset, hard reset, deleting and re-sending bixby apps, all to no avail. Just the same out of date software message every time
