Android Play Store won’t load or download apps

Having a problem loading the Play Store on an android phone or tablet? Check out the following tips to get this issue resolved.

There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to check out that awesome new app only to discover that your Play Store isn’t loading. I’ve personally had this happen on a few Android devices with the main culprits being ones I haven’t used in a while.

Fortunately, I’ve found there’s a simple solution that resolves this issue in almost every case.

When the Google Play Store isn’t loading, this most commonly occurs due to a difference in the time that your device is reporting, and what the server thinks is accurate. To fix this, we need to update the date and time on your device.

  1. Open your device's main Settings app.
  2. Touch Date and time.
  3. If you see "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone," uncheck them.
  4. Manually change the date and time so that they are wrong.
  5. Tap the Home Screen button.
  6. Go back to your Date and time settings (repeat steps 1 & 2).
  7. Manually change the date and time, so that they are correct.
  8. Re-check the boxes for "Automatic date & time" and "Automatic time zone."

After running through these steps, you should now be able to access the Play Store. If you need additional assistance, check out Google’s troubleshooting guide.

Sound off in the thread below. Has this happened to you? Did this help solve your issue? Let me know!

I uninstalled an app and can not reinstall it because of the original problem with installing issues so I don't think it would be a good idea to uninstall the play store app. 😒
