ATT.net email on Android email NOT SYNCING to server and unable to see set-up folders

Re: the 7/25/17 att.net email meltdown on Android system's email, I have finally been able to load the account back to the email system on my Samsung S4, however, it is not syncing to the server.

All messages show as new even though they were opened on computer; it is not showing any messages written/sent from computer; and I am not able to see my email folders on the phone.

I am using the 'mail.yahoo.com' for incoming and outgoing set up on pop3.

Any help out there would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Greetings @karenbuteyn,

Great question! After the changes that were made, there are a definitely some changes which must be done to your settings in order to successfully connect to your email account. I’ll be happy to give you the necessary details!

The first step would be to delete the existing account. Afterwards, please start the setup process all over again, but please use the IMAP settings instead of POP3. On this link you’ll find the server settings for your account, choose the one that shows the correct email domain (i.e. sbcglobal.net). As you start the setup process on your device, please be sure to select “MANUAL SETUP as you follow through, this way you have the option to enter the correct email settings. That’s all there is!

Please let us know how it goes. Have a great evening!

Thank you @ATTCares.

This past Sunday I got back on a chat with ATT and the person helping me managed to enlighten me to IMAP vs. the Pop3, though not in the most efficient manner - it seemed a last ditch suggestion.  Our chat seemed unsuccessful, but after collecting the exact set up combination for IMAP and letting that person go, I did exactly what you suggested - I deleted and started over.   I am happy to report that after seven-plus weeks of being off-line and out of sync - my life can now resume!

I will never understand why ATT did not reach out to its email customers, or why ATT help lines kept kicking it down the road when other forum conversations (found after I received some help) seemed to nail it in two days, but I am grateful to be back to normal operations.

Thank you for your help.  Nice to know you would have eventually rescued me!!

Hello again @karenbuteyn!

I’m really glad to hear its now working! I apologize we weren’t able to help you earlier, but the important thing is you managed to re-establish the sync, and very much on your own by the sounds of it. Great job! I couldn’t imagine being without email on my phone for so long.

And I appreciate you taking the time to come back and letting us know, as well as marking my response as resolved. It will be sure to help many other customers in a similar situation.

Best of luck and I hope you have a fantastic rest of your day!

Hello,

I am having a similar problem with att.net not syncing on my phone. I deleted it then, when i tried to reload by using imap, under enter account information it directs me to webpage not available. Any suggestions on how to get att.net email back on phone? btw, it works fine on my computer.
