Transferring phone number from Red Pocket (AT&T MVNO) to AT&T prepaid
Hello! I was in the process of signing up for AT&T prepaid service, but when I plugged in my cell phone number the website told me the number was not eligible for porting. Currently I have service with Red Pocket Mobile, which is an AT&T MVNO, and I have my account number and PIN (which the AT&T sign up site did not ask for). I just wanted to check to make sure that there is no way to port my old number before I give up and renew with Red Pocket for another year. Unfortunately giving up my telephone number and getting a new one is not a good option for me.
Thanks!

Good afternoon Zack, @zjbortolot
Thanks for your post. We appreciate you considering AT&T for your prepaid wireless business.
You can find out if you can keep your number, and check for device compatibility by visiting att.com/byod/. Numbers that have been disconnected or canceled is not eligible to port.
Double check, and if you get the same message post back so we can take a closer look.

Thanks Kenneth! Since posting the message it has been quite the adventure getting things resolved, but I was able to get things set. This morning I called the porting department (I was given the number by a user on a different online forum) and the woman I spoke to told me that I could definitely port my number but that the online checking system was getting confused because I was switching from an AT&T MVNO to AT&T. She told me to go to my local AT&T store and that they could resolve the issue. Unfortunately the local AT&T store employee was no help (he said the only way to get AT&T and keep my number was to switch to Sprint and then switch to AT&T) and I had to wait over an hour at the store. I was about to give up when I decided to try checking my number one last time in case the porting department fixed the system. It didn't work, but I noticed the live chat button. The woman on live chat was extremely helpful and pleasant, and after a lot of checking around she told me to purchase the plan I wanted and indicate that I would like a new number, but to call a 1-800 number before activating the SIM card to have them port my old number over to it. I'm crossing my fingers that this works!

Greetings @zjbortolot,
Thanks for providing that feedback to us. We'd love to have you as apart of our AT&T Family. Please keep in mind that if an eligibility check come back as Ineligible, you can choose to activate with an AT&T phone number. The porting process cannot proceed unless the eligibility check result comes back as Eligible( refrain from offering a temporary number to ensure the best experience for the customer). Feel free to reach back out if something comes up. We'll be happy to assist you!

For the love of God someone help me with this issue. I am having porting issues as well and I was at the store for hours today with no luck trying to switch from redpocket to AT&T. He told me the only way is to change my number.

I know this post is about 2 years old but is it still true that I can port from red pocket to AT&T as suggested above by calling the porting department?
