AT&T International Travel - Learn all about AT&T's Travel Plans

Effortless Intl Travel.png

Hello Community!

We’ll touch on two types of accounts below -- postpaid and prepaid.  You can find some great information on all our International offerings, and some helpful tips to ensure your trip is as enjoyable and seamless as possible.

International Travel Overview:

For postpaid accounts, there are some great options available to help meet your needs on your next trip like:

Raise Anchor

Wondering if we have Cruise Ship Plans? We do! With AT&T Cruise Talk Text & Data Text or AT&T Cruise Talk & Text, you can keep in touch with your family and let them know how your trip is going. Both plans offer Unlimited text and calling.

Don't Forget Your Passport

AT&T Passport® is perfect for long vacations. You have the options to choose our 2GB or 6GB plan. Both include larger data allowances, unlimited messaging using AT&T Short Messaging Service (SMS) and Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) and not to other messaging services or applications that use data, such as iMessage. Unless you have a domestic plan that includes unlimited text, messages received will be charged at your domestic messaging rates.

Not Staying Long?

Our amazing International Day Pass® is great for short trips and simple to use!  Once it is added to your plan, you can use it in over 200 hundred countries. You can also add additional lines on the same account at a discounted rate. Also, Latin America Roaming is now included in our Unlimited Elite plan.

Traveling Close To Home?

The Roam North America feature is the best option our customers have when traveling in North America, and it helps take the stress out of your travel.  If qualified, you'll receive all the great benefits of unlimited talk, text, and data within and between Canada, Mexico, and the U.S! Please note that this feature is only available for customers who are on AT&T Unlimited Plans or qualifying plans. Customers on other plans may also be able to add the Roam North America feature to receive this benefit. For customers on any of our other unlimited plans, you can choose to add on Roam North America as a feature.

Before adding on a Passport package, we recommend checking the AT&T Travel Guide to make sure your phone will work in the country you are visiting. It’s also a great tool if you’re traveling abroad in general!

Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling is a low-cost, but limited option when traveling as well. There’s a wide array of devices that can support Wi-Fi Calling, so it's important to ensure your device is capable beforehand. To see if your device has this feature, I recommend taking a look at our Device Support page, selecting your phone, and checking under the Calling topic.  Or, you can also take a look at our shop page for a list of Wi-Fi-capable devices that we update regularly.  Please note, there are some restrictions to Wi-Fi calling, so please visit our site to get all the details.

Last, but not least, are our pay-per-use rates. These apply if you don't have an international discount package, are in a country that isn't included in a package, or when a package expires.

For Prepaid GoPhone accounts

We currently have a few options that include roaming in Canada and Mexico. You can find all the details, including long-distance and roaming, on our International Prepaid (PREPAID) page!

Also, don’t forget to check out our nifty Travel Tips to help manage your device while abroad. I hope this helps you guys out and safe travels!
