What does a family tracker do? Is there any way that she could block it (i.e. Turn off location services or putting the phone in airplane mode)?

dont take this the wrong way. But if your worried about your kids disabling things you might want to switch them to flip phones. And anything can be blocked.. there are apps for most things these days. If you want to know what family tracker is goto the link and read about it.
