Blocking numbers w/ Secure Family

I’ve been using AT&T Smart Limits to monitor my son’s phone and minimize distractions while at school. I loved that I could block numbers from the app. Smart Limits is going away and I’m now using Secure Family. So far I do not see a way to block numbers from the app. Am I missing something? That was a huge perk with Smart Limits and I’m going to be extremely disappointed if Secure Family failed to include that option. Is this an option with the AT&T app?

Hi, @Lisarobi,

AT&T Secure Family has some but not all of the same features of AT&T Smart Limits and AT&T Family Map. The ability to block specific numbers does not appear to be a feature yet. You can take a look at the AT&T Secure Family app features here.

Have a great week!

I agree that blocking numbers is an important safety feature. I also had the ability to block calling/texting with exceptions so that parents (or anyone I selected) could always call/text even during blocked hours. Is this something that will be implemented in the future?

This is really absurd! That was one of 2 main features that I wanted! I don't think that I will be continuing with Secure Family. "It does not appear to be a feature yet"??? What sort of answer is that? Will it be added? Yes or no? If yes, when? It's as simple as that. Please respond.

Thank you

I was told in a live chat with an AT&T associate on 2/28/19 that blocking a number was a feature of the Secure a family app and is the only reason I subscribed and now it doesn’t appear to be a feature? I have an email copy of the live chat. Is this feature now available and if not, when will it be?

its not going to be available because of how the system works.

Wow... Really? It is not going to be a feature because of how the system works? Funny... It was a feature of AT&T Smart Limits. Funny how "how the system works" did not prevent it from being a feature of Smart Limits. Hmmm... Maybe AT&T just wants more money from their customers? It sure seems that way. Let's take the features of an existing app that has a subscription, remove some of the key features in the app that "replaces" that app, then claim that is because of "how the system works".

AT&T is obviously just greedy. Looking for ways to increase fees, get more money however they can. I will be seriously looking at other providers...

I was just on ATT Chat this morning and I was informed that I could block a phone # from texting my son using the ATT Secure Family app...  The woman then went into her system and blocked the number for me.  I know she did it because the ATT Secure Family showed up in my call log just now.  She told me I could turn it on or off via the app whenever I wanted but I do not see that option ANYWHERE
