I keep getting popup saying family map is now secure family and to go to google play to get update. I click on update, but there's no update. Only options available are to uninstall or open app. I click open, it goes back to ATT Family Map...get the popup to update again. No way to bypass the popup, no update to download. Cant use the app at all. Very frustrated.

There are several FREE apps which locate phones in the App Store.
We are an android family and use “Google trusted contacts”. It doesn’t require sharing your google account credentials.
“Family locator” is a one time purchase and works on any device.
“Family locator & safety” is free
iCloud locates iphones
Find devices locates androids
The ONLY reason to use ATT $10 per month subscription is if you have basic phones. All of the above apps require a smartphone

My att family map suddenly stopped working and says it is now Secure Family and to update. It doesn't update just goes to family map to uninstall or open. I eventually uninstalled and it still does the same thing. Also went to play store for new app and it doesnt exist. Help.

Family map app not working. Message says to update to Secure Family app. There is no Secure Family app, yet?, and Family map doesnt work. Message keeps looping.

This is a Joke! Over priced services with total indifference to its costumers!
I can't even CANCEL this AT&T unsupported Family Map service?
AT&T is nothing but a self-serving Public Utility now days. (can you say PUC?)
What ever happen to all the vigilant consumers? Who speaks for us? Will the PUC ever care about us users (taxpayers/consumers) any more?
Guess the message is to just shut up and pay! They'll eventually make good by giving us some kind of useless coupon for their frivolous services that we don't want. Pay and Pay... when do we get reasonable service and respect from all these so called service providers?!

I had the same problem with the update banner. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, now after I type in my password there is a spinning circle and it's not advancing to the next screen..

AT&T Family Map is a known issue. Please keep an eye on your preferred app store so you can update it to AT&T Secure Family as soon as its available.

Have you made sure that your account shows that you are subscribed to the
family map feature? If so, then it should be working. I know from my
experience that another line on my account didnt end up showing the feature
but prior it did. So after re-adding the feature to that line it ended up
showing after re-signing into the family map app after you select add a member. It will then show the new member and anyone else who was already being located within the app. Did you try signing in from
an actual computer desk top or from a phone? That will make a difference
also. Ive found an actual desktop to always work better than the app for
some reason. Its now been working fine and is still the same Att family map app for now. Hope this helps.

had/having the same problem! I called yesterday and they said they knew about the problem - I told them I don't want to be charged this month!

Its currently being worked on for an new update to be coming soon. The same family map app is currently working. I belive if you no longer want to be charged you can sign into your account and cancel the feature under Manage device features. Hope this helps.

Are we now going to have to install an app on every phone we are tracking? We don't have to do that now. If that is the case, when the kids see it has to be installed, they will delete it from their phone so their parents can't track them. (especially teenagers) I don't think that is secure at all.

My familymap app automatically updated to Secure Family on Sunday evening. It would not work at all. NO locating! After many communications back and forth I received an email from Apple. On Tuesday, the app appeared to be locating in real time for several hours only, then back to not working for hours or sporatically and occasionally locating, and at times filled in the history for the hours it wasn't locating.
I surely hope there is a fix for LOCATING, not trying to have filters so no need for companion app as this was my first problem. I just want the same quality services I had with Familymap. It always located when phone was in a good service area. I currently have Familymap on my laptop and can locate the phones with Familymap website while Secure Family App will not locate at the same time.
PLEASE get this app working efficiently like Familymap worked for me. I know it has the capability to work because it worked for serveral hours this morning before going haywire again and not locating. Thanks for your help! 15 Years Loyal Customer of Familymap!!!!!!!!! HELP!
