UVERSE
Recently I called AT&T to query about service availability for the office.
We have been a AT&T customer since there was an AT&T and a DSL customer since there was a DSL.
We were limited in the service and needed more bandwidth.
I was told that UVERSE was the answer.
" U-verse includes fiber optic technology and computer networking to bring you advanced digital TV, high-speed Internet, and digital home phone service together as a fully integrated experience."
I was told we would get much faster service, up to 18 MBPS and more reliable too.
I was also told that I would have to move to UVERSE anyway as AT&T was converting to UVERSE in this area.
I signed up. WHo wouldn't trust AT&T.
Since the service was installed we have had 3 site visits, maybe more that didn't come into the building, numerous service calls and two router/modems to keep the service running and I lost my VPN.
The bandwidth remains limited to 6 MBPS and it cannot get better, unless AT&T actually runs fiber down the road.
Our service cost increased 50%.
The good news; the support service has improved, I can actually talk to someone and get it fixed. Nice folks too.
The bad news; It needs fixing.
So here I am - same bandwidth, less capability and more cost.
But nice folks to work with.
