Insane! Small Business Land line
I ordered my line on Monday 08-15-11 via the net. Got a confirmation code, phone number, 3-digit code and a scheduled installation date of Friday 08-19-11.
On 08-19-11 (Friday morning), I called my small business representative to get an idea of when the scheduled installation will occur. It went straight to voice mail, where I left my message. Around 3pm I begin to get worried. So I called ATT directly, leaving my phone number in the batch of call backs since there was a 25 minute wait.
When I get my call back I am told that I was not scheduled!
I told the ATT representative that I had all the necessary items. IE; confirmation code. new phone number. 3-digit code and the scheduled installation date. The representative told me there was an error with their system. Absolutely insane. What kind of web developers and/or programmers do they use????
The representative wanted me to reschedule for 08-26-11. I said I wanted an earlier date for my inconvenience. I was given today; 08-24-11. My phone line is now working. Was installed at noon today. Now it is 6:52pm and I have no call waiting or voice mail services. This has got to be the worst service hell I have ever experienced.
On top of it all, there online registration service has been down all afternoon. Still is!
If I had any other choice, I would of never picked ATT as my land line service provider. They honestly should rename their company 'Pure Hell'.

Update: 08-25-11 Voicemail activated as of 9:30am. Sometime between 1am to 9:30am.
When calling into Voicemail to set-up I was asked to enter a password. I was never given this password. I searched everywhere on the ATT site without an answer. So after a few guesses; it ended up being my phone number without the area code.
I am still unable to register my account. As the registration service is still down.
These services are quite unpleasant indeed!

An additional Update (Never Ending nightmare):
I decided to call my family, friends and customers to announce my new phone number. Only to find out I can't make long distance calls!!!
Exactly when is this nightmare going to end?
The service in which I ordered was unlimited local/(long distance calling with premium voice mail services.
I am sitting here at 2:24pm awaiting yet another call into ATT customer service.
