ATTM Settlement

I received two checks for the ATTM Settlement. Is this legit or a scam?

The check offered a web site to look into, www.attmsettlement.com, but I am wary as it came from the same paper as the check. In key word searching att.com for attmsettlement I didn't see any ready reference to the settlement.

Re: ATTM Settlement

It is so frustrating- why on earth did they approve almost a $0.25Billion payment to 92 lawyers but we the injured parties only get a few dollars or less! How is this $1billion estimated windfall to the 34million class members distributed? How much did CA agree to refund & to how many? How do we know we got what we are due! ...because there is no way I only paid $1.19 in extra tax over these 5 years 2005-2010! Even if we all got $2 each that's only $68million! Where did the rest of the $750million disappear to after the lawyers got their piece. $2.5million each after fees&expenses! Disgraceful. This type of class action should not be approved- courts need to mandate smarter & more direct & transparent refunds of OUR money! This is fraud. Our "tax" was just funneled to the lawyers! ATTM settlement administrator is even just a PO box in Wash,DC. No recourse for customers. FAIL.

Re: ATTM Settlement

Hi Nancy - how much did the lawyers make from the settlement?

Re: ATTM Settlement

@PeggyWY The lawyers made enough money to put all of their children and grandchildren through Ivy league colleges and had enough left over to buy a nice vacation home. Meanwhile, I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my 3 cents.

Re: ATTM Settlement

I only got a penny, and to think before opening the envelope I quit my job and booked a world tour expecting a sizeable settlement. boy was I surprised when I opened the envelope! I'm still going to cash the check though a penny saved is a penny earned.

Re: ATTM Settlement

One of the two checks I received is not getting accepted when I try to deposit in from the ATM or phone. It looks like the check was not printed correctly. Looks like the toner in the printer was running out. Some words were left out and the Signiture was dim and faint. What can I do?

Re: ATTM Settlement

I took it in to the teller. One of the routing numbers was missing because of a bad print. They were able to get the routing number figured out that was for Central Bank.

Re: ATTM Settlement

Between me and my spouse, we recieved $11.48 cents. That's a lot comparred to others who recieve $0.03 cents. It's nothing but insult to Amaericans working hard to pay ther bills. These class actions are lugubrious, sardonic, hanky panky charade capitalistic bruhaha meant to rob Peters to pay Pauls. Excuse my gramatical kilishi feelings here.Seriosly these people are intrested in thier ability to take vaccations in prestigious clubs in the bahamas. anyway am going to buy an hummer jeep for my wife on december 30, 2016 with my money that i recieve.

Re: ATTM Settlement

Due to printing problems mentioned by people above, my wife's check and my check were both rejected.  A digit is missing from the routing number. I'm not saying someone would do that to help prevent people from cashing these checks before the 90-day limit but... it would be a profitable move that totally fits the MO of a company that would say "we didn't do anything wrong but we're going to give you a quarter million to settle it."

Re: ATTM Settlement

I got a check for $8.72.  Lost it for a time and when I finally deposited it, the check was returned to my bank and I suffered a $12.00 penalty.  Thanks AT&T!

Re: ATTM Settlement

The phone number offers NO help with checks that have been issued and CAN'T be cashed because of one number missing in the routing number.
I did go to the website attmsettlement.com and filled out the bottom Contact Us form requesting REISSUE of NEW CHECK so that I can collect / cash it.

Re: ATTM Settlement

Not only did my check NOT go through but it was returned to me and my acct was debited the amount of my check plus and extra 5$ for it being a bad check! So what would have been an $18.32 refund ended up costing me $5.
