Call Protect feature

ATT persistently refuses to allow me to activate the 'Call Protect' feature on my digital phone. Either the web page stops functioning, or, as in today, an error code "500" comes up. Of course they are continuing to advertise this feature....but they don't let you actually use it. If anyone from ATT bothers to even read this, please stop blocking the ability (or fix the ability) to sign up for 'Call Protect'.

Re: Call Protect feature

Hey @LindaWW,

Let's see if we can get Call Protect activated!

To opt in:

  1. Go to Account overview.
  2. Locate the My digital phone section and choose Check or manage voicemail & features.
  3. Select Phone Features.
  4. Choose Call Protect.
  5. Follow the prompts to turn on Call Protect. We'll send you a confirmation.

Additionally, you can do this on the myAT&T app as well!

Let us know if you have further questions!

Re: Call Protect feature

I have AT&T U-verse, and have had Call Protect activated for years.  Now, all of a sudden in the last month or so, it just deactivates itself for no reason.  So, I go online, go to the Phone Features, and reactivate it.  Then it just deactivates itself again.  It sometimes gives me an error message that says "( Error Code :500 ) Hmm...something isn't working.  We can't turn on/off call protect at this time...Please try again later."  What is going on with Call Protect?  Why is it malfunctioning?

Re: Call Protect feature

This is not a solution!

We are getting an error message that says,  "( Error Code :500 ) Hmm...something isn't working.  We can't turn on/off call protect at this time...Please try again later."

Please remove solution designation from AT&T Cares post on Sept 5, 2018 @ 12:34pm.  It does not solve repeated error message and inability of customers to turn on Call Protect.

Re: Call Protect feature

Solution does not apply.  About the time of your post AT&T changed their account home page but never updated the instructions.  There is even an "ad" for Call Protect under My Digital Phone with the same incorrect instructions.  There is no "Check or manage voicemail & features" link in that area.  There is a Manage My Plan link which does not have any options for Call Protect or Locate Me.

Re: Call Protect feature

Can you get to any of the phone features through your Myatt account?

Re: Call Protect feature

No, I can't get to any of the phone features, all links in all support documents I can find just loop back to the main account page and I can't actually get anywhere.

Since I'm not having this posted error message I will continue in the other thread I responded to:https://forums.att.com/t5/AT-T-Phone-Features/Unable-to-access-Phone-Features-Feature-Controls-to-ad... .  I was just trying to point out that quoting instructions that don't match the web site isn't a solution.
