home phone batteries are dead
Me, my dad and my dad's friend all live on the same road and all of us are having the same issue. The batteries in our home phones are dead. Its happened this week so I don't think its a coincidence. What could be causing this? Thanks for your help.

If you're talking about a cordless phone system coincidence is all it can be. There's nothing out there I know of that will drain your cordless phone battery.
