If u-verse try resetting your modem. Can you dial 1 plus numbers other than toll free? I'm assuming you're not talking about from a cell phone.

Thanks, I did try that but got a message that they were unable to resolve the problem and gave a list of toll-free (!!!) #'s to call.

I also am unable to dial toll free numbers. This is a landline and not uverse.
