NEED HELP CANCELLING SERVICE!
Trying to cancel service for a deceased person. I have mailed two cancellation notices to two different addresses, no reply. I have called customer service 5 times and spent more than 60 minutes on hold and have yet to talk to a human. Went by the ATT store and was told they could not assist. I mailed the FINAL PAYMENT after they suspended service, they cashed my check, charged me $35 to re-connect and billed me for yet another month. As a point of reference, I have closed the 3 other utility accounts in about 10 minutes total time for all 3. "Customer service" is certainly lacking to say the least. Any ideas?

The provided link has the phone number to call to cancel service. Or just call 800-288-2020 to cancel. We hope this helps!

nearly an hour on hold and have yet to speak with a human. Needless to
say, my patience with ATT has been exhausted.

Hi @ARDOKASSIST,
Thank you for providing this feedback. We will ensure it is forwarded to the correct department. To cancel services you will have to call or visit a local retail store.

Here's an update as of tonight. As of Dec 10, 2018, I have called ATT customer service 6 times, spent in excess of 60 minutes navigating your menus and have yet to talk to a human. I took the advice of 2 replies on this forum and went to 2 corporate owned ATT stores and both told me that they could not assist me. I have sent 3 letters to ATT and have yet to get a single reply. Not only am I dealing with the stress of the death of a family member, you are making it impossible to cancel a phone line. All told, I have made 13 attempted contacts to cancel this account and I am still at square one. I personally have all Uverse services at my residence but after this complete lack of customer service, who would want to continue service?
